The Ohio Collaborative, a 12 person panel of law enforcement experts and community leaders throughout the state, established standards on August 28, 2015. These standards will hold everyone accountable and instill greater confidence with the public. The Colaborative works closely with partners, including the community and law enforcement
The Ohio Collaborative, a 12 person panel of law enforcement experts and community leaders throughout the state, established standards on August 28, 2015. These standards will hold everyone accountable and instill greater confidence with the public. The Colaborative works closely with partners, including the community and law enforcement agencies, to implement new standards. All law enforcement agencies are expected to meet or exceed these standards and develop policies and procedures to meet expectations.

On October 18, 2022, the Hiram Police Department was recognized and received the AAA Platinum Award for Community Traffic Safety and Community Policing. The AAA Platinum Award is the highest level of recognition from AAA. The Hiram Police Department has received this prestigious award for the 9th consecutive year. Hiram was the only agency in Portage County to receive this award.

The Hiram Police Department has two full time sworn officers, 7 sworn part time officers. Our department additionally has sworn Reserve Officers, Specialized units include, Investigations, Honor Guards, Drug Enforcement, Community Affairs and a Bicycle Patrol. For a small agency, the Hiram Police Department has excellent technical equipment, vehicles, facilities and training opportunities.
